Thursday Aug 7, 2008

Margarito liked how he performed in sparring with Oscar. He doesn't like his chances at luring the Golden Boy into a showdown.

Margarito Calls Out Oscar

By Ralph Gonzalez

“I sparred with Oscar a few years ago,” new WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito recalled. “And I have to say that I definitely put my hands on him. I don’t think he’ll be getting in the ring with me any time soon.”

“Oscar told us he would never fight Tony,” confirmed Margarito’s manager Sergio Diaz. “If Steve Forbes got to Oscar the way he did, can you imagine what Tony would do to him?”

Margarito looked like a real life terminator against Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto in stopping the former two division champion. In Cotto, he outwilled and outfought someone who was considered an elite fighter. One of the world’s pound for pound best. It was a beating far worse than most imagined. Many of the boxing world analysts predicted that the more technically refined Cotto would break down and stop Margarito in the later rounds.

The “Tijuana Tornado’s” performance was so astounding that ugly and unfair rumors started springing up around Puerto Rico that Margarito had fought on steroids. The innuendo was recently squashed when the Nevada State Athletic Commission drug tests came back negative for any type of performance enhancing drugs. Some Cotto fans just couldn’t fathom the fact that Margarito made their idol crumble to one knee after absorbing an incredible amount of punishment.

The victory brought back the buzz that was taken away by Margarito’s decision loss to WBO champion Paul Williams.  Dan Goossen, Williams’ promoter, has offered Margarito’s promoters at Top Rank $4 million for a re-match. Not a bad offer, but the big money’s with De La Hoya. Every fighter wants a piece of the “Golden Boy”. Especially Margarito, who’s been chasing him for years.

But will De La Hoya step into the path of the “Tornado”? Don’t rule out the possibility.

Say what you want about Oscar, he’s never been one to avoid danger. He fought Shane Mosley and Felix Trinidad during their prime. He also faced Bernard Hopkins in a division far beyond his optimum fighting weight.

Of course that was a younger and fresher De La Hoya. The 35-year old Mexican-American boxing icon is now on the verge of retirement. All indications point towards De La Hoya fighting once more before he hangs up the gloves in what’s been the most successful and lucrative boxing career in the history of the sport.

There are rumors that De La Hoya may fight Manny Pacquiao in what would surely bring in some big dollars. Pacquiao’s following coupled with De La Hoya’s drawing power equals big pay per view sales.

To ardent fans of the sweet science, a Pacquiao/De La Hoya clash would be more of a circus than a legitimate boxing match. A silly experiment between a fighter that started out as a flyweight and one who fought as a middleweight. Boxing’s version of Wrestlemania.

According to a recent report on Notifight.com, De La Hoya is already spinning a potential Pacquiao clash. The “Golden Boy” stated that a bout against Pacquiao would be personal for him since the Filipino allegedly disrespected his company by signing with them first and then ending up fighting for Top Rank promotions. “I accepted Manny and I trusted Manny,” De La Hoya said. “When I looked into his eyes and we shook hands I thought we had a deal. But the past is the past and if we see each other in the ring it’s going to have to be personal.” Sounds a little Wrestlemania-ish to me.

De La Hoya went on to say that he feels he was challenged by Pacquiao and that he accepts all challenges. He mentions a short list of possible opponents like Sergio Mora, his business partner Shane Mosley and Felix Trinidad. Guess who’s not on the list?

Pacquiao last fought at 135 lbs. but normally campaigns at 130 lbs. He’d be expected to climb up in weight to 147 lbs. in order to fight De La Hoya. Seems ridiculous to Margarito since he feels there’s already a deserving 147 pounder in place. “I know Oscar is looking for a big fight in December,” Margarito said. “I’m challenging him. If he says he takes on all his challenges, well, I’m right here. Everyone wants to see this fight. Mexicans, Americans, Puerto Ricans, any true fans of our sport wants to see Oscar step into the ring with me.”

Will we ever see Margarito vs. De La Hoya? Not likely, says Diaz. “It’s unrealistic. Tony would be Oscar’s biggest nightmare,” Diaz said. “There are a lot of options out there including Paul Williams. It’s been a long time coming for Tony. He got himself a signature win against Cotto and everyone’s talking about him.”

Everyone except Oscar De La Hoya.

donputo69:  I dont think dlh wants no part of margarito....*** I WONT FIGHT ANOTHER MEXICAN AGAIN ***...yeah right....listen....dlh is doing scareweather move by hand picking his opponent...he's picking pacquiao right now because he knows he has a good chance of beating him....but he's not picking margarito because he knows margarito will seriously hurt him....thats just my opinion...holla back!!!!!!
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
aaron, uk:  I would say Oscar will do better than Cotto managed for one reason, he can take one hell of a punch and I cant see Margarito going straight through him like he did Cotto. De la Hoya UD... CONTRAVERSIAL???
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
Isaiah:  Of course Oscar is scared of Margarito. Oscar don't want none of that and is going for undersized Manny, which just maybe a big mistake. Who knows?
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
Justin:  This is how it should go down!!!!! Oscar vs Margaito ----Paquiio vs Hatton those weights make sence for everyone plus there big Money fights....Then theres Pavlik vs Hopkins I hate this matchup Hopkins makes for a bad fight too defensive and I don't like Kelly going up in weight he should have fought someone in the top ten rankings......
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
jorgevan007:  de la Hoya is acting like a real sissy. He will retire and in his head he will know deep down that he did well on paper, but that he chickened out against Margarito. I bet Mayweather is happy he ran away sooner rather than later. Boxing fighters are warriors, but i guess the days of defending your honor and proving you are the best at the sport are now gone. Now, everyone looks at making big bucks and retiring young and rich, even if they have to look like cowards.
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
Snapper1:  DLH toooo much big fight experince and is still faster than Tony. arron UK on the money !! Oscar can take a punch. he wont sit on the ropes either. stamina is the only question in that fight. i personally wouldnt mind seeing DLH vs PAC but it wouldnt be as good as Delahoya vs Margorito. DLH by Decision!!
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
Limi:  dlh is 20% fighter 80% promoter these days end of story after his next fight he should become a 100% promoter..... end of fighting career.
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
Erik:  The following is my opinion on this issue. From a strategic point of view, DLH vs. Pacman is perfect for both fighters. They both get to make a huge amount of money while avoiding the fighters they're scared of (in DLH's case, Margarito, and in Pacman's case, Juan Manuel Marquez). DLH gets a fight that looks tough but will probably be easier for him to win than people think, while Pacman gets a huge payday for a fight that he can lose without looking bad (if/when he gets his ass kicked by DLH, his camp will of course point to the size difference and say it was unfair). Then, DLH can retire while claiming to be the only Mexican since Erik Morales to beat Pacman, and Pac can go back to the lighter weights to recover. If Pacman were to somehow beat DLH, then it would obviously make Pacman look great, so from Pac's perspective, there are only two results: win and look extremely great, or lose without looking bad. Either way, both fighters make tons of money and make themselves look good to people who really don't know much about boxing. The only people who lose out are the true boxing fans, but obviously neither Pacman nor DLH care about them. Obviously, Margarito would destroy DLH. Cotto would have beat DLH convincingly by UD with his youth, speed, and great technique. But Margarito would utterly destroy DLH and knock him out. I'm not saying that DLH was never great, but at this stage in his career he'd get his ass kicked by Margarito. DLH saying he doesn't want to fight a fellow Mexican is in my opinion a pathetic and half-assed excuse. So by not taking that fight, DLH is showing that he doesn't care about great boxing--he just cares about money. Similar situation with Pacman. Notice how JMM adamantly insisted on a rematch after their second fight--even traveling to the Philipines to call out Pacquiao--yet Pacquiao still shows almost no interest in fighting him anytime soon. Considering that this is the Pacquiao fight that the real boxing fans want to see (not some BS fight against an inferior lightweight "champion" or a circus with DLH at 147), it becomes clear when you look at this that Pacquiao doesn't really care about being a great boxer anymore. He sees a huge payday with DLH and is willing to make a ridiculous jump in weight to fight a guy way bigger than him--a guy who hasn't even been in people's top ten P4P lists for years. Yet there is JMM, a top ten fighter ready and willing to fight Pac for whatever share Pac wants, and even willing to follow Pac in weight. DLH vs Pacquiao is in my opinion a way to distract people from that fact that 1) DLH is purely an entertainer at this point and 2) Pac is afraid to fight JMM because knows there's a good chance he'll lose, and he probably secretly believes he lost their second fight and got lucky with the judges. DLH and Pac should both be ashamed of themselves for not living up to their status as great fighters--a status that has made them rich, famous, and respected. Shame on them for trying to reap its rewards by pulling one over on the boxing public.

donmaricon89:  DLH WOULD BEAT MARGARITO. HE MIGHT BE OLDER THAN HIM BUT OSCAR KNOWS HOW TO TAKE A PUNCH. HES NEVER BEEN KNOCKED OUT BY A HEAD SHOT AND B HOP ONLY DID THAT BCAUSE HE WAS TWICE AS BIG AS HIM. I SEE DLH WINNING BY UD AND I CAN C DLH BEATING COTTO BY KNOCKOUT.
Thursday Aug 7, 2008
aaron, uk:  LOL

mike:  Oscar v. PacMan may look good to the casual fan but it is bad for the sport. When mayweather chose hatton instead of cotto/margarito/william he got roasted for picking on a jr. welterweight and rightfully so. But Oscar pulling this crap is a straight up joke. He is disrespecting the sport the way he gets to cherrypick his opponents. Once PacMan beats him i guess he will have to drop down to fight Mijares or Arce, oh that's right he doesn't want to fight mexicans anymore (i.e. Margarito) so i guess it will be Darchinyan.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
dan gurrea:  Erik, you're talking nonsense,JMM went down the canvass four times by pac awsome left.he did'nt floor pac once.if i were JMM,i will not fight pac again.nobody will see the fight.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Eastar:  Oscar ain't got no respect for Margarito. Margarito don't deserve that huge payday. Manny Pacquaio does, though. Margarito tries his best to hit the "lotto"...Margarito got the losing numbers...True Story.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
959 Santa:  Maybe Oscar will start to believe the hype surrounding Margarito. Perhaps Oscar will do a reversal and fight Margarito. That's who I want Oscar to fight is Margarito not Pacman.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Stik & Move:  I second that, I want to see Oscar fight Margarito. Oscar can't take body shots and that's all Margarito throws. Oscar has shown signs to fade in the later rounds and bodyshots will make you fade even sooner. Someone stated that Oscar takes a great punch, I ask why do you say that when didn't he go down when Quartey hit him, He basically ran from Trinidad. Hopkins couldn't catch him and when he did the body shot sent him to the canvas. All I'm saying is that Oscar took most punches from smaller guys. Oscar has no style! He has been with so many trainers that you can not ever develop a style. Margarito can dish it out and take it. I don't think Oscar can take the constant pressure and I think he knows it.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Isaiah:  Hey, did you all see how they used my quote on the main page about the Oscar/Manny fight? Right hand side man! Now I'm one of the ELITE on this page for sure! I ain't going nowhere! This page needs me, the newest ELITE! HA, HA! Donputo69, Anony, and all the others I don't feel like mentioning, I have joined the ranks and will continue to talk sense and slam Mayweather lovers for sure! To celebrate, yo Eastar, maybe I been too hard on you man, but why are you ending your comments with true story now instead of trying to insult us? Heh, it's all good man. Do your thing. Man, today has been great! Laid, paid, and my quote on the front page! This site rules! Don't worry people. Today I feel too good to even hate on Mayweather supporters, but I'll probaly be back to my old self tommorow. Oscar ain't fighting Margarito! Golden Girl is a B!--h! HA,HA,HA! PACMAN! WIN IT! SOMEHOW,SOMEWAY,WIN IT!!!
Friday Aug 8, 2008
donputo69:  hey isaiah...i've been there and done that already..QUOTE OF NOTE....not much, but 2 times is ok for me...lmfaooo....holla back!!!!
Friday Aug 8, 2008
vjoe:  i think dlh could be competitive with magarito. can he beat him? i don't know and it definitely could be a very dangerous fight for goldie. but i'm not sure that the cotto win translate to margarito is an unstoppable monster. i believe he's got five losses, yes? and sugar shane had gone the distance and been competitive with cotto and, imo, sugar shane has dropped way off from his best days. maybe cotto was a overrated. anyway, dlh and margarito is the fight that would do the $$$$$$.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Radam G:  Isaiah, nephew, I'm glad that you are all cheery about being in the "QUOTE OF NOTE." Good job, kid. See ya when I get back to the States. But you are dead wrong about Pera Pac and Big Money O. There will be nobody beating down the PacMan, and the money-making machine Golden Boy is no coward or bully. Everybody and his momma want these cash cows, plus Money May. Holla!
Friday Aug 8, 2008
paulbo:  Imagine getting an invitation to fight in an MMA tournament. If you bring your undersized little brother as your oponent (Pac-Man) does the fight really count as a big-time MMA fight? De La is trying to pass off his scrap with Pac-Man as a legitimate Welterweight clash. THAT'S RIDICULOUS! There's fantastic talent at welterweight without De La Hoya having to bring his little brother. Here's the ironic part of it: Pac Man might whip De La Hoya anyway.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
aaron, uk:  DLH does take a hell of a punch. The 'bazooka' ike quartey punch was a good shot that caught him off balance and Bernard was just way too big, that body shot was sickening, I would still be rolling around on the deck now if i'd took that shot. Also he did well to stay on his feet in the match up with Floyd early on when he took two straight right hands to the temple and his knees buckled but he stayed up despite the shots being within a second of each other. DLH TAKES A CRACKING SHOT!!
Friday Aug 8, 2008
BigDaddy:  Hey Mas puto69,are you the self-appointed moderator or do you just have tourette's? And I see Radam Gibberish can't stop bragging.Dude grow up.Do you think that your the only person on the planet going to the Olympics?
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Solo:  I agree aaron, uk. De La Hoya can take a very hard punch. He took the best shot Mayorga could muster, an amazingly brutish and unorthadoxed uppercut that snapped his head back. He took it, stood there and returned fire. Has anybody else recognized how big ODLH's noggin is?
Friday Aug 8, 2008
aaron, uk:  Its funny you mention that punch Solo, I was also remembering that uppercut aswell. I remember it looked like a hook was coming but before he knew it he'd been changed to an uppercut at the last second. The camera angle was such that you got a perfect view of the shot and DLH's face afterwards and you could tell that it hurt him but he soldiered on. That punch would have dropped most. FACT!!
Friday Aug 8, 2008
dan:  i would pick delahoya over maragarito. he can punch, he can crack as well, and box. i think cotto would beat mayweather if he ever regains his mental makeup which is doubtful but i hope im wrong, i dont think margarito could beat mayweather but i would love to see floyd try to hit and make maragito miss for 12 rounds. pacquio is great but to watch but him fighting delahoya is a joke.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Solo:  True aaron, uk. If I remember correctly I think ODLH may have actually ducked into the uppercut, trying to avoid what he thought was the hook. From the top angle the shot looked pretty harsh. Also, although the body shot from Hopkins was timed, placed well, and a hard shot. Being a fan, I hate to say it, but I smell a fish with the ending of that fight. So to me, I don't count that blow against the punch taking abilities from Oscar. He and Bernard do seem to be buddy buddy with eachother, beside that fact that they are partners.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Stik & Move:  Oscar is afraid of taking a beating. You can have all the skills in the world but if you don't have the heart then skills can't replace the most important tool to have. Look at Roy Jones, he has always been afraid of a big fight because he saw what happen to his good friend Gerald McClellan. Cotto will never ever be the same again. The beating he took in the last 2 rounds will hurt him for the rest of his career. 2 fights come to mind when I think of Cotto not being the same. 1.Salvador Sanchez vs Wilfredo Gomez, 2. Jose L. Ramirez vs Edwin Rosario
Friday Aug 8, 2008
donputo69:  hey stik...relax....when ali lose for the 1st time, was it the end of the world?...frazier?....foreman?....lewis?....duran?...leonard?....hearns?....dlh?..pacquiao?..hopkins?...all of these great fighters lose for the first time and became even better during their careers...so you cant say that about cotto...if anything, cotto will be even better next time around....TRUST ME...i rather have 5 loses and be consider one of the greates boxers of alltime then to be undefeated......holla back!!!!!!
Friday Aug 8, 2008
rudy:  This fight is just a circus to get the fans $$$. Straight BS from Oscar. The dude would get wiped out by Margarito and as for Manny, disappointed in the cat, considering he fought the WEAKEST alphabet titlist at 135 and now moves up but avoids the other threats -- Casa, Marquez, Diaz, Katsidis, Campbell, Guzman, even guys like Valero or Soto. Damn punks just after the $$$, this is like Rocky vs Thunder Lips (Hulk Hogan). Freak attraction.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
BIGFREDO76:  Hey Rudy let pacman get paid my man.Theres definitely nothing wrong with that. The money that fight would generate biggest purse Pacman ever saw.Let ODH do what he wants fought the best (ive been saying that)at their best.SO what all others bringing up other fighters names lets talk about the facts ODLH doesnt want to fight Margarito im kool with that doesnt wana fight other fighters im kool with that cuz outside the ring they aint to popular, but he fights the ONE that makes a WHOLE country watch ...WWWOOOWWWWW Oscar aint no fool hes gonna get PAID ...................
Friday Aug 8, 2008
rudy:  I feel you, let'em get paid, but dont act like this fight is a true 147 fight -- if it was that, IT would be against MARGARITO.
Friday Aug 8, 2008
donputo69:  Well well well.....lets thank scareweather for all of this nonsense **PAY DAYS** and ducking the top opponents...boxing is all politics now...everybody wants the $$$$$$$...but alot of those "EVERYBODYS" keeps ducking the top fighters in their division...oscar will get killed by margarito....but he will beat pacquiao....OSCAR AINT STUPID...he's just like scareweather..HAND PICKS HIS OPPONENTS...holla back!!!!!
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Stik & Move:  Donputo, I understand what you are saying but I'm not looking at Cotto because of his first loss. It's how you lose. Ali didn't get beat up like that. Frazier wasn't the same after Foreman destroyed him. Lewis got ko'd by Rahman and Oliver but that's only because he took them lightly and didn't train. He came back to avenge both losses. When Foreman lost to Ali it did do something to him, he later lost to light punching Jimmy Young and then went into the dressing room and said he saw GOD. Duran, Leonard never took a beating. Delahoya has never been in a fight of that magnitude. Hopkins will never take a beating. Pacquaio's career isn't over with. So are you telling me that Barrera/Morales was the same after the beating they took from each other? Also Cotto will never be the same as long as he keeps his trainer. It's already talk that Cotto will be fighting Kermit Cintron
Friday Aug 8, 2008
Isaiah:  Easy now. I'm a big Cotto fan, but Margartio won that fight fair and square. In the rematch, I say it'd be 50/50 to who would win it. Kermit Cintron is a perfect comeback opponent to get Cotto back on the winning track. My point is that I'm trying to say is Oscar de la Hoya is a B!--H!!! HA,HA,HA!!!
Saturday Aug 9, 2008
Isaiah:  ::NEWS FLASH:: Golden Girl has just recently became the first graduate of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s " HOW TO BE A B!--H SCHOOL. More on this as it develops.
Saturday Aug 9, 2008
BIGFREDO76:  Whoever says ODLH hands picks his opponent is correct, but he always hand picked his opponents he hand picked Trinidad,Moseley,B-Hop,Vargas all these people were not mandatories he even fought Chavez so what page from Mayweather?I dont get it for so called hardcore fans not many of you know S**T.ODLH invented the "Payday"heavyweights were getting paid then he came along and became a heavy payday I bet OLDH is worth minimum 250 million he dont need to fight but he does cuz its his passion. All others box cuz they want to be noticed by him.Choke on that
Saturday Aug 9, 2008
Yuvie:  I've been a fan of Margarito since the fight with Diaz but now I'm seriously starting to lose respect for him. I love what he did in the Cotto fight, I ain't taking that away from him. What annoys me is the fact that he seems to have completely forgotten who the hell Paul Williams is. Jeez, give it up, Oscar is fighting Pacquiao, Oscar is scared to fight Margarito, end of story. Now I hear talk that Arum's putting together a Margarito/Clottey re-match. Why? Why would Marg go for this fight instead of a re-match with a guy who clearly beat him last year, I don't care what you Margarito bandwagon fan boys say. Williams deserves the re-match. Nah, actually Margarito deserves a re-match. This is getting pathetic. I never would have expected something like this from a warrior like Margarito. You guys think he would beat Williams, well, he's gotta prove that he can. Then he'll get my respect.
Saturday Aug 9, 2008
frank jones:  Yuvie, ultimately it's really not up to Margarito himself but his manager and his promoter. I'm sure Margarito would fight Williams tomorrow if he were the one with the last say.
Saturday Aug 9, 2008
bIG DAWG:  Cotto was not beaten. He was destroyed. Body and soul. He was looking to quit for at least four rounds. The only ones in his corner who believed/hoped in him were his trainer and cutman. That Look on his face was the story. The look after the fight is His-story. BTW, Frazier was never the same after his first fight with Ali and he won. Nor was Ali. the way they won and lost changed them forever. Hearns, he also never had the same indomitable confidence as before he lost to Leonard. Oscar has fought ever contender, built a great business, still talks intelligently and articulately...and still looks good. So to all you haters, ODLH is the Golden BOY because he earned it!!! Since his own Olympic victory. You want to make real money, lose weight or gain it....but come and kiss the man's ring.
Saturday Aug 9, 2008
rbk:  No way does the golden gal come close to fighting Margarito. Margarito would make mince meat out of this guy.
Sunday Aug 10, 2008
ali :  oscar should take the fight with margarito cause he's not that good. yeah he can take a hell of punch and he throws alot of punches but there wide punches and if you you have real boxing skills and don't get tired you'll win. cotto would have won if he did'nt get tired he's never had to move around the ring that much that not what he does. oscar can hes done it before like when he fought vargas and tito plus he has mayweather sr. to make sure he boxes. he'll beat the shit out of margarito and please stop saying oscar is scared of margarito he fought every body im not a big oscar fan but lets keep it real he's fought everybody period.

Radam G:  BigDaddy -- hater with the small brains -- you wish that you could grow rich. I heard that you are so poor that you cannot afford the o and r, so you say -- "PO." Get over me. My Benjamins would crush you "like a jelly bean," in the words of L-L-Cool-J. And quit dropping the soap in the public showers. What is wrong with you? My closet is bigger than your whole cript. I guess you don't need much space for your iota of brains and personal effects. Man, you are stiff from an unkept cesspool and graveyard. Where is the love? Oh, I forgot! You are so "PO" nobody has any for you. You have my sympathy. Holla!
Wednesday Aug 13, 2008
puncher:  Big Dawg, yes Cotto was beaten and did lose by TKO.....BUT IF i CHECK THE SCORECARDS, if he stayed on his feet for the 11th and 12th rounnd it would been just a draw. What you still forget is that the first 10 rounds he was up 7-3.....not bad for a guy that was destroyed. Now lets have Margo go after Williams and see what happens. Cotto will be waiting!
Wednesday Aug 13, 2008
LILCHICANO:  ERIK I AGREE WITH YOU..ALTHOUGH IM AN OSCAR FAN I AGREE WITH U..FACTS ARE FACTS...IF donputo69 MENTIONS OSCAR BEING A SCAREWEATHER TO DUCK TONY THEN MANNY IS JUST AS SCARED TO FIGHT ANOTHER FIGHT WITH JUAN MANUEL..REAL BOXING FANS THAT APPRECIATE THE SPORT KNOW THAT A MORE EXCITING FIGHT WOULD BE AGAINST MARQUEZ NOT DIAZ..BUT I THINK IF MANNY FIGHTS HIM AGAIN HE WILL SERIOUSLY END UP WITH BRAIN DAMAGE HE WON THE SECOND FIGHT BUT GOT THE WORST OUT OF THE BEATINGS HIS OWN WORDS ARE THAT HE GOT LUCKY...ANOTHER THING I THINK IS FUNNY HOW THE MAYWEATHER FANS JUMPED ON THE COTTO FANS AFTER THE FIGHT! TALKING ABOUT COTTO BEING OVERRATED AND STUFF...MAKING IT SEEM LIKE COTTO GOT BEATEN BY A BUM...TONY WOULD KICK MAYWEATHER'S BUTT JUST AS BAD AS HE DID WITH COTTO..AS GOOD AS A RUNER FLOYD IS THOSE BODY SHOTS BY TONY WILL LEAVE HIM ON HIS KNEES TOO!......AND THATS THAT!
Wednesday Aug 13, 2008
Anony [ to all Margarito's fans ]:  History changes everyday.. Today Margarito has the belt and I congratulate him but everyone has to recognize Cotto is still here and in his prime and one of two things will happen... either he will never be the same fighter or on the other hand, he will be hungrier than ever and looking for revenge... I don't know wich one Margarito will face in the future but if the second one comes up... he better break his nose, his arms and legs because it will not be easier than this first fight. ::::: PLEASE PUT THIS ON THE PREDICTION OF THE "YEAR" FOR 2009 ::::: I'M ANXIOUS TO SEE THE OUTCOME OF THE WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION AND IF YOU GO TO THE RECORDS, COTTO IS THE ONLY ONE WITH THE BETTER RECORD PER FIGHTS - 33-1 AND 26 KNOCKOUT :::::: SO... KEEP IT COOL MARGARTITO'S FANS :::: HISTORY COULD SPLAT IN YOUR FACE AND THERE IS NO SWEETER TASTE IN SPORTS THAN REVENGE :::::::
Thursday Aug 14, 2008
Sodamn Insane:  Greedy ODLH will only fight Margarito if he agrees to a 98 / 2 % split he is a greedy dog
Friday Aug 15, 2008
FLOYD MAYWEATHER IS THE LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:  Anony, if Cotto faces Margarito again he'll get KO even faster. Don't be ignorant. Face it: Cotto will never beat Margarito. And about the record, so what? Paul Williams has a better record (34-1), so what?................... Sorry to say this, guys, but Antonio Margarito IS the best Welterweight and nobody can beat him. No Love For The Modern Glove
Fight fans who are of the opinion that modern boxers could have held their own against guys from earlier eras always seem to ignore the fact that boxers back in the day were more durable than modern ones and had to be because of the different conditions under which they fought. For one thing, the lighter, non-water-resistant, horsehair gloves used in earlier eras required one to have stronger hand bones than the heavier, foam-padded, water resistant gloves used today, so any modern fighter who suffers chronic hand injuries would never have lasted very long in bouts fought in earlier eras (unless, of course, they took a little off of every punch that they threw, which, of course, would have made them much less effective fighters). ---TSS reader Feed The Cat offers some perspective on the Old vs. New debate
